Edgars are often made fun of for the way they look, act, and speak. However, people choose to adopt the style regardless of what others say because it is easy to imitate.
A fan of Edgar Martinez shaved the face of Martinez, a former Seattle Mariners player. Martinez found the look funny and got the haircut of his fan. Other people found it funny, too. A group of guys that modify pick-up trucks to make them sound louder decided to also get the haircut. The video they posted on TikTok made them famous, and the haircut spread from there.

The Edgar style is associated with several incidents of conflict that occurred at Knott’s Berry Farm in the last year. Edgars was blamed for the conflicts because video footage showed boys with the Edgar style of clothing and haircut. Due to the incidents, the park now has restrictions on who is allowed in. Since the summer of this year, anyone under 17 years old cannot enter the park unless accompanied by an adult or supervisor older than 21. Many teenagers are angry and blame the Edgars.
Reynol De La Torre, a senior student at the University of California San Diego, said: “It’s kinda bad because kids go to Knotts in order to escape their parents. Knotts will lose money as teens stop going because of the new rule. “I say bring back the Edgars to Knotts.”
I’m angry because other people started fighting, and we’re the ones being blamed. I feel angry because I can’t hang out with friends anymore because of stupid fights that I didn’t start. “They should have banned only the teens who caused the trouble, not the whole group of teenagers,” said anonymous Edgar.
Edgar has been a popular style for some time now, and it has made us laugh a lot. They are proud of their style. The style is mainly used by Latinos. However, other ethnicities have also adapted it. The style is easy to wear and simple.
