Custom Clothing Stamps or Machine Washable Label Stickers

You can label clothing using three main products: stamps, stickers, or iron-on labels. Each has its pros and cons.

Iron on Labels

Iron-on labels are required to be ironed. This might be a good choice if you enjoy ironing. Ironing is something I hate. Ironing is something I absolutely hate.

My husband does all the ironing in my house, but I digress. Iron-on labels adhere to all fabrics, are easy to read, and are unlikely to come off accidentally.

You can remove the labels from clothing if you decide to donate or sell it. Simply heat them with an iron, then pull away. The downside is that some children may be annoyed by the label, and it requires ironing.

Stamp on Clothes

Stamps are awesome. Stamps are great because they’re easy to use, fast, and require little prep.

Once clothing is stamped, it will remain forever. The ink cannot be removed. It is impossible to stamp dark clothes.

Label Stickers

Stamps are easy to use, but stickers are even easier. Stickers can be placed anywhere on the child’s clothes. The stickers shouldn’t come off when you wash or dry them.

Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Over time, washable stickers may wear off. These stickers can also cause discomfort if they are placed on sensitive skin.

How to Label Baby Clothes

You need to decide which method is best for you before you start. You can even combine all three. Then, get all your supplies together and take out the clothes.

Lay out all your child’s clothing. Step

Label all clothing, including baby shirts, pants, and socks, pajamas, diaper covers, dresses, coats, jackets, even bibs. Do not try to choose which items to send to the daycare. Label everything instead.

The labels come on a roll so that you can cut them label to fit your garment. You can cut only the initials from small items if you need to.

Install the ironing board

Iron the clothing flat without bunching.

Attach Label to Clothing

Label the clothing. To protect the label while ironing, cover it with a fine piece of cloth.

Iron the label

Place the iron over the cloth, with the label and the item of clothing underneath. Allow the iron to sit still for 20 seconds.

Wait

Allow the garments and labels to rest for a full day before washing or wearing.

Prepare Clothing

Spread out the clothing flat, with no bunches in the area you want to stamp.

Remove the Cover

Before stamping an article of clothing, the stamp will come with a seal or cover that must be removed.

Stamp

You should apply firm pressure to the stamp but not move it. Otherwise, you risk blurring or smudging your image.

Wait

To allow the ink to set, all clothing should be left to dry for at least 24 hours. Clothing can be worn after this period or washed.

Select Your spot

Stickers work best on clothing tags, but they can be used anywhere. Select a location that’s easy to locate and where the stick can adhere.

Peel and Place

Place the sticker where you want it on your clothing. Now you can wear or wash your clothing as desired.

Other Labeling Methods

There are other options as well. You can use it to embroider on clothing or to sew labels into clothing.

It is easy to label baby clothes for daycare, but it is important. It is the only method to guarantee that your clothing will be returned to you every day. Which method will you use to label clothing for daycare? Comment!
